Rachelle has lead Westburne Quebec for over a decade. She joined Westburne in the 1980’s as a controller, and when the opportunity to become General Manager of Quebec was presented in 2002, Rachelle was determined to take it.

Rachelle’s financial background, strategic approach, and influential leadership style with an intuitive edge gives her unique insight on what Quebec needs to succeed in the electrical market – and she’s been walking the talk. After just a few years as General Manager, Rachelle managed to build a strong team and motivated them to become industry-leaders by providing outstanding service to their customers. With Rachelle as GM, Westburne Quebec grew to become an indisputable leader in the electrical distribution market – and have proudly remained one ever since.

Rachelle is a Chartered Professional Accountant, graduating with distinction from Sherbrooke University. Outside the office, Rachelle enjoys good wine, sharing a nice meal with family and friends, and Pilates – which she has recently discovered and has grown addicted to!

Mike joined Westburne as General Manager of Ontario with a history of progressive sales and general management roles with Purolator, American Express, TELUS and Acklands-Grainger.

Since joining Westburne in September 2013, Mike has made a name for himself as a highly energetic and collaborative leader, determined to drive profitable growth and make Westburne the first choice for both team members and customers.

With a unique and innovative style of managing sales, Mike has evolved Westburne Ontario into the customer-focused and goal-oriented organization we see today. He takes great satisfaction in supporting others to acheive their career goals, and is always ready to support Westburne team members in their skill-development and personal growth.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys traveling, reading, and is always up for a round of golf with friends and colleagues! He devotes his time to a number of charities including the United Way, the ALS Society and the Yonge Street Mission.

Stacey Hartnell | General Manager of Westburne West

Stacey joined the Westburne team in January 2016 as the General Manager for the Westburne West division. He is responsible for leading our teams in British Columbia, Alberta and the Northwest Territories. His personal mission at Westburne is to support a culture of highly engaged and motivated team members in the delivery of exceptional customer experience.

Prior to Westburne, Stacey held senior leadership roles at a number of organizations including Labatt Breweries of Canada and Acklands-Grainger. He offers a unique blend of customer-centric focus, talent development and a passion for process, upon which to build sustainable success. Stacey’s leadership style can be described as motivating and engaging, while being fair and honest. When asked about his greatest career accomplishment, demonstrating his humility, Stacey talked about developing team members into top managers and future leaders of the organization.

Stacey is a graduate from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. When not at work, Stacey enjoys spending time with his teenage sons, travelling, as well as playing golf and hockey.

John Hildebrandt | General Manager of Westburne Midwest

John began his career with Westburne in 1989 on the British Columbia Accounting team. In the subsequent 25 years, John has worked in BC, Toronto, Calgary, with territories covering all of the US and Canada at times. John became General Manager for the Midwest Division in 2008 and is currently based in Winnipeg. He holds the most pride for his current role as GM, but also considers his previous experience as the Director of Internal Audit for Rexel North America a great career accomplishment.

John is a team-minded leader, who maintains a connection with all employees at his division. Driven to make Westburne better, John enjoys analyzing markets and trends, and has a passion for Westburne to consistently be at the forefront of capitalizing on new opportunities.

John is a family man with five children and six grandchildren, whom he loves to watch grow up and to spoil. Winter curling and four-season running are passions for John, who boasts an impressive collection of marathon medallions.

As Director of Business Strategy and Marketing, Salim combines strong business acumen, dynamic leadership skills and strategic vision to create opportunities that help the company grow. As the newest leader to join the team, Salim has been the catalyst of various initiatives that have influenced positive change at all levels of the organization. He is on a personal mission for Westburne to win over the hearts and minds of their customers.

Prior to Westburne, Salim worked for TELUS, Bell and CP Rail in B2B marketing, strategy and operations in a number of leadership roles. Salim is a proven leader with extensive experience working directly with sales channels, building multiple top-performing teams, and leading many large scale company re-organizations.

A self-described geek, Salim loves asking questions and learning how everything works. Described by his teams as a great leader with a coaching style that inspires trust and bonding among team members; Salim has a unique ability to find humor in all situations and uses it cleverly to motivate his team, build trust and make work fun. He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Calgary. When he’s not at work, Salim enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two young children. He also does volunteer work as a National Board Member on the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board for Canada.

Kevin Breakingbury | National Manager, Energy & Lighting Solutions

Kevin joined Westburne in January 2001 as the British Columbia Lighting Manager, a precursor to the role he finds himself in today. Kevin became the National Manager for Westburne Energy Solutions in February 2015, and considers this to be the most rewarding position he’s been a part of to date.

Kevin admits that the most fulfilling career event was participating in the Institute for Management Development training and letting that be the guide for a new level of expectation for himself and those around him. As a leader, Kevin builds trust and commitment among his teams, which creates the ownership and accountability needed for great individual and team success. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Bristish Columbia. He is also qualified as a Lighting Certified (LC) Professional through the NCQLP.

Outside of work, Kevin is a mentor to a family from China. Every week, he meets the family to offer them encouragement and support. In return, Kevin is constantly inspired and humbled by their unwavering commitment and strength in the face of adversity.

Craig Byfield | National Account Manager

Craig joined Westburne in 2002 as Alliance Manager for the Shell Canada national agreement. He worked his way up the ranks through provincial, divisional and national level roles, and became the National Accounts Manager in 2012. Since then, Craig has developed a strong national team, and through strategic leadership, has coached them to work seamlessly with all stakeholders, including our organization, external customers and vendor partners. Most recently Craig was designated as the Westburne lead for two global areas of focus: International Key Accounts and Mining as well as Metals & Minerals accounts.

Craig prides himself on proactive engagement with multiple banners in the Westburne family, which has led to securing several significant international agreements. This has been accomplished by continuous improvement of the service model, and refinement of the value proposition.

Craig has been an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2004. When he’s not busy working, volunteering and traveling, Craig enjoys good food and wine with family and friends. He’s also a bit of a musician, and enjoys collecting and playing bass guitars.

Sonja joined Westburne in 2014 with the objective of providing the Westburne sales organization with the tools, information and support needed to help them go from selling good to selling better.

Sonja’s background and nurturing skills are perfect for the mission she has set out to accomplish. Starting out as an employee instructor with a major automation company, Sonja excels at creating training materials, including multimedia courses, and facilitating courses for senior management. A highlight was the preparation of a winning submission to the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Workplace Training.

From there, Sonja moved on to acquire extensive experience in the design, implementation and management of CRM systems as well as in the designing and implementing of sales processes. And her experience is global, as she has traveled to 8 countries on 3 continents to implement a sales process. She’s experienced in identifying market trends, potential sales leads and competitive intelligence. Sonja has become well known for her skills in teaching, motivating and cheering on the Sales team.

A true dog lover, Sonja and her dog Woody are volunteers with the Kitchener Humane Society’s Tales for Tails. At Kitchener area schools and day care centres, 3 to 5 year olds get to read stories to the always attentive Woody, who basks in the attention, petting and hugs.

Mathieu joined Westburne in 2008 as an outside sales representative, before transitioning to his current position in 2010. As National Business Development Manager of Strategic Sales Initiatives, Mathieu oversees the Westburne’s renewable energy portfolio and development of new strategic initiatives in the industrial market.

Mathieu has been instrumental in building Westburne’s outstanding reputation in Energy solutions by leading the creation and growth of Westburne’s Renewable Energy initiative. He and his team have contributed to the construction of more than 250MW of solar projects and 2,500MW of wind energy by working closely with various industry stakeholders such as developers, engineers, turbine manufacturers and contractors. This represents the energization of more than half a million homes. Today, he is hard at work planning Westburne’s next innovative and unique solution offering.

Mathieu is the proud father of four boys. He’s a serious hockey fan and has even recreated a NHL hockey rink in his basement for his family to play in and enjoy. He also loves sailing and cheering for his sons in their various activities.

Mark enjoys challenges that require creativity and innovation. Since joining Westburne’s parent company as Marketing Analyst in 2004, and quickly transitioning to Brand Management of its private label, he’s had the opportunity to develop in a number of different roles across the company.

In 2007, Mark moved to the Westburne banner as Marketing Manager. A few years later, he switched gears to sales as he entered the lighting world as the National Sales Manager for Retail Lighting then on to National Manager, Westburne Lighting Solutions. Trading in his desk and office chair for seat 13D (sometimes 19D) on many flights, Mark found himself travelling throughout the Westburne divisions to share his solutions-oriented approach. His success in these positions, driven in large part by a strong customer focus and analytical skills, led to his current role as National Vendor Relations Manager.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario. He is also qualified as a Lighting Certified (LC) Professional through the NCQLP.

Outside of work, Mark spends his free time with his family, and his children are the source of his most enjoyable time. Mark also appreciates good coffee and the office team look forward to days when he brings specialized coffee grinds to share.
